I know what your thinking, like !!!! WHAAAT !!!! Well let me explain, I see it as one who contends for the Faith, one who is on their knees getting battle, in prayer, one who is interceding for others & in fasting, one who is in the Word reading the Scriptures.
I may have used this for a lack of a better term, I could have said one who is a man or a woman of prayer or a prayer warrior. That's just too cliqué.. Someone who is in the Spirit, will move in the Spirit of God.
Here is what the Apostle Paul had to go through in a Spiritual War that went through which is an example for us as a Believer, that we will also go through :
I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ— I who am humble when face to face with you, but bold toward you when I am away! I beg of you that when I am present I may not have to show boldness with such confidence as I count on showing against some who suspect us of walking according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.
- 2 Corinthians 10:1-6 -
Well let's check this out shall we,
Paul expresses himself strongly in V.1 & it reminds the readers of His apostleship and asserts his authority. The change in Paul's tone is therefore immediatley evident. "I Paul myself".
In denfense of his ministry.
In V.2 According to the flesh : The charge is not that he is carnal, but that he is lacking divine unction in the ministry and has usurped the apostolic office to himself.
In Verses 3-5 : Though we walk. [ live ] in the flesh [ in the body ], we are not wage war [ fight ] according [ after ] the flesh ( human standards ) : The first phrase of verse 5 looks back to verse 3 and expresses the manner in which believers conduct spiritual warfare. It is destroying [ casting down ] arguments ( false imaginations ), such as Paul's opponents have raised.
So Paul had to Huslte in a spiritual sense, when he had to defend his ministry. As we read on In this 2nd Epistle of Paul, from 10:1-13:14 Paul's tone changes drastically. For this reason some suggest that this section constitutes the text of the "severe letter" of 7:8. However, as has been noted, the change in approach may be more readily accounted for by a change in the direction of Paul's words. In the remaining chapters he turns his attention to a small pocket of resistance that continues to voice opposition to his ministry.
This is just a taste of what a man of God had to go through, with opposition of trash talk, of a battle, to were rumors spread, false accusations. So what do you do ? You give it to Prayer,
And if your lacking Power, or if your the type, who is one who claims to be "spiritual but not religious", or "religious but not spiritual". Many reject the idea of becoming a Christian, they just don't understand the Spirit filled life of a Christian. Even those who go to church don't have this.
So what you must do is :
Believe Jesus Christ is the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit.
In faith ask your heavenly Father through Jesus to baptize and fill you with the Holy Spirit.
How to respond :
Praise the Lord audibly, letting the Spirit give you the words. Freely respond in the worship and thanksgiving to God. ( Check out the result of the Spirit's filling in Numbers 11:25; 1 Samuel 10:10; Joel 2:28; Luke 1:67; Acts 2:4, 10:46, 19:6.)
Your Assurance - God's Word :
"And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" - Luke 11:9-13 -
What to expect :

(See Acts 1:8)
