"Children Walking In Truth"


"I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father."
-2 John 4 (KJV)


This beautiful example, "Walking In Truth," is found only in the 2,one-chapter epistles of John. Here in our passage & in 3 John 1:3,4.......


"For I was very glad when brethren came and testified to your truth,that is,how you are walking in truth. I have no greater joy than this,to hear of my children walking in the truth."
-3 John 1:3-4 (NASB)

This principle should indeed characterize our daily lives,since our Lord & Savior is Himself "the truth",& the Holy Spirit who indwells our bodies is the very "Spirit of truth".

"Jesus said to him,"I am the way,& the truth,& the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."
-John 14:6 (NASB)


"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."
-John 17:17 (KJV)


"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father,even the Spirit of truth,which proceedeth from the Father,He shall testify of me: "
-John 15:26 (KJV)


-The New Testament also uses other characteristics of the Christian Life under this figure of walking. When a person is "Born Again" through faith in Christ & testifies of this by following the Lord in baptism,he or she is said to be raised to "walk in newness of life"................


"Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death,so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,so we too might walk in newness of life."
-Romans 6:4 (NASB)

-Then the Holy Spirit has come to indwell our bodies,to comfort,guide,& constrain us as needed,we are exhorted to "Walk in the Spirit"............

"But I say,walk by the Spirit,& you will not carry out the desire of the flesh."
-Galatians 5:16 (NASB)

-Furthermore,we are commanded to "walk in love,as Christ loved us"............................

"And walk in love,as Christ also hath loved us,& hath given Himself for us an offering & a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour."
-Ephesians 5:2 (KJV)


-This is a type love in Hebrew "Ahavah" or in the Greek "Agape" is not the type of love that is erotic,or a brotherly type of love. But a unselfish,that sacrifices its own interests for the needs of others. There are still more such exhortations. Furthermore,we are to "walk in the Light,as He is in the Light".............

"Walk in wisdom toward them that are without,redeeming the time."
-Colossians 4:5 (KJV)

"but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light,we have fellowship with one another,& the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin."
-1 John 1:7 (NASB)


-All of these & other similar admonitions can be summarized as simply following the examples of Christ.................

"the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked."
-1 John 2:6 (NASB)

"Then spake Jesus again unto them,saying,I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness,but shall have the light of life."
-John 8:12 (KJV)

- Let's walk in the truth,& walk In the light as He is in the Light,let's keep walking with Jesus. He is the One who saved us,no minister or Evangelist saved us,we don't save anybody. But by the Leading of the Holy Spirit drawing or wooooing the heart of the individual to come to know Jesus. And as that one comes to faith in Christ even as a child & walk with the Lord to their old age -that is a type of having great Joy to see a child walk in Truth"....

Or an awesome thing to see someone who lived a life of sin & then come to the Lord,& made a commitment to live for Jesus & serve Him,& coming to see the life living even during times of trial, knowing that the Lord will be with them in those times. And being lead by the Holy Spirit to do the things of the Lord to do the work of the ministry.

Walk in the Truth & Keep on living for Him.............
