"Born To Die"


"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served,but to serve, & to give His life a ransom for many."
-Mark 10:45 (NASB)

As shown clearly in the Gospel of John,Christ indentified many reasons why He had been born. Consider the following sampling of verses & references.

1st & foremost,Christ came to redeem those who would believe...


"For God so loved the world,that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,but have everlasting life."
-John 3:16 (KJV)

-But under that umbrella of redemption come many other aspects, Jesus says this in John's gospel ch.4....

"Jesus said to them,"My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me & to accomplish His work."
-John 4:34 (NASB)

God's will was paramount even in judgment as well as resurrection.....

"I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear,I judge: & my judgment is just;because I seek not mine own will,but the will of the Father which hath sent Me."
-John 5:30 (KJV)

"For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son & believes in Him will have eternal life,& I Myself will raise Him up on the last day."
-John 6:40 (NASB)

-It also governed His teaching in everything,Christ sought to bring glory to His Father....

"So Jesus answered them & said,"My teaching is not Mine,but His who sent Me."If anyone is willing to do His will,he will know of the teaching,whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself."
-John 7:16-17 (NASB)

"He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him,He is true,& there is no unrighteousness in Him."
-John 7:18 (NASB)


There are many aspects of Christ's work that are to be realized in this life,for He said..

"The thief comes only to steal & kill & destroy; I came that they may have life,& have it abundantly."
-John 10:10 (NASB)


His desire in it all was that we might have an eternal relationship with God..........

"And this is life eternal,that they might know thee the only true God,& Jesus Christ,whom thou hast sent."
-John 17:3 (KJV)

-But we know the primary goal was to bring to climax His redemption strategy. And He knew that none of the other aspects of His work had any effect without atonement for sin,which was possible if a blood sacrifice was made for that sin.........

"Greater love has no one than this,that one lay down His life for His friends.
-John 15:13 (NASB)

"I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."
-John 10:11 (NASB)

He is the Good Shepard who gave His life for His sheep,& this was the reason He came to earth.

Jesus was born to die,He came to bring man back to a relationship with God,its no longer a religion but a relationship.....

Let's take this to heart as we look to Jesus & what He has done for us,by bringing us to Himself.
