"Christ Is Our Foundation"






"For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid,which is Jesus Christ."

-1 Corinthians 3:11 (ASV)





The only & lasting foundation,for either a Church/institution or for ones Christian walk,is in the Lord Jesus Christ. No other foundation will endure in that coming day when in verse 13 says this....





"each man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it,because it is revealed in fire; & the fire itself shall prove each man's work of what sort it is."

-1 Corinthians 3:13 (ASV)



It is vital,therefore,to build on the foundation that Christ Himself has laid. This is laid in 3 courses,each of which is essential for its permanence. 1st of all,we must acknowledge with the apostle that :



"And:

“ You,LORD,in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,And the heavens are the work of Your hands."

-Hebrews 1:10 (NKJV)





He is the Creator of all things,& therefore Lord of all.

And 2nd we must acknowledge with Peter that we been "redeemed"...



"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,as silver & gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;But with the precious blood of Christ,as of a lamb without blemish & without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world,but was manifest in these last times for you,"

-1 Peter 1:18-20 (KJV)





His foreordained work of redemption is foundational even to the foundation of the world!

Then there is the Word of God,which is foundational to everything beyond creation & redemption....



"Everyone who comes to Me & hears My words & acts on them,I will show you whom he is like:

he is like a man building a house, who dug deep & laid a foundation on the rock; & when a flood occurred,the torrent burst against that house & could not shake it, because it had been well built."

-Luke 6:47-48 (NASB)





The Lord Jesus Christ is the true foundation,for He has Himself laid every sure foundation. He created all things,His shed blood is the price to redeem all things,His written Word,by the Holy Spirit,reveals all things needed to build a beautiful,fruitful Christian Life or in ministry. No other foundation will last.......



"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?"

-Psalm 11:3 (KJV)





Let's be grounded in the Word,& look to THE ROCK of our foundation......
