"The Faithful Lord"






"But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you & guard you against the evil one." -2 Thessalonians 3:3 (ESV)



Our Lord Jesus Christ has many wonderful attributes,not the least His faithfulness. That is,He is believable & trustworthy,& sure to all He promises. He will keep us from the evil one & from being overcome by evil in our lives,as promised in our passage.



"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful,who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape,that ye may be able to bear it." -1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)



-And why does He care for us so much? Well in the 1st place,He is our Creator,& has a distinct purpose & will for our lives. Therefore all who are His can safely rest assured that.....



"Therefore,those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right." -1 Peter 4:19 (NASB)



He will keep us to the end; Paul said this :



"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; & I pray God your whole spirit & soul & body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you,who also will do it." -1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (KJV)



Even when we yield to the temptation along the way,& fall into sin,He promises :



"If we confess our sins,He is faithful & righteous to forgive us our sins & to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." -1 John 1:9 (NASB)



And because He has paid the penalty for all of our sins that we could never pay,& He is a :



"Therefore,He had to be made like His brethren in all things,so that He might become a merciful & faithful high priest in things pertaining to God,to make propitiation for the sins of the people." -Hebrews 2:17 (NASB)



With such a faithful Savior & Lord,we surely ought to trust Him fully. In spite of this,we often doubt Him & His Word,but even this does not change His love towards us.



"If we believe not,yet he abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself." -2 Timothy 2:13 (KJV)



"God is faithful,by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord." -1 Corinthians 1:9 (KJV)



For His name is called "Faithful & true"



"And I saw heaven opened,& behold,a white horse,& He who sat on it is called Faithful & True,& in righteousness He judges & wages war." -Revelation 19:11 (NASB)
