"But He answered & said unto them,An evil & adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; & there shall no sign be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet: for as Jonah was three days & three nights in the belly of the whale;so shall the Son of Man be three days & three nights in the heart of the earth."

If there was ever "an evil & adulterous generation,"it is surely this present one &,once again,there is a widespread seeking after signs (same word in the Greek as "miracles").
The most explosive rise of the So-called New Age movement & many of its forms,has produced an amazing interests in all forms of occultism & supernatural phenomena: astrology,channeling the dead (ghost whisperer),ESP,near-death experiences,UFO's,meditation,& mysticism of many strange varieties,& of course Oprah Winfrey's "A Course In Miracles".

Even within Christianity,there is an unhealthy interest,a new revelations & other supernatural signs & wonders. The Lord Jesus,however,rebuked those who wanted special signs before receiving Him....................


"So Jesus said to him,"Unless you people see signs & wonders,you simply will not believe."
-John 4:48 (NASB)


He has already given us the greatest of all signs : His bodily resurrection from the dead,the best-evidenced fact of all history & this should be evident as He told the scribes & Pharisees in our passage. As a matter of fact, there is a real danger in seeking such signs & wonders,for many of these things. While perhaps super natural,are not from God..........

"For false Christ's & false prophets will arise & will show great signs & wonders,so as to mislead,if possible,even the elect."
-Matthew 24:24 (NASB)


Unlike the 1st generation of Christians,we now have the complete written Word of God,of the Old & New Testament's both,& it is sufficient for every need of every believer until Christ returns............................

"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed,as unto a light that shineth in a dark place,until the day dawn,& the day star arise in your hearts:"
-2 Peter 1:19 (KJV)


I share this because we,are living in the Last Days,which I do believe. We have people say that their "NOT RELIGIOUS" but they are "SPIRITUAL" if that be the case,those who say this,are still worshiping something,as a religion.
-Whether it be on the altar of The Oprah Winfrey Show, for some who look to Jesus or the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe in a burnt toast/tortilla,or in a block of moldy cheese,or on a potato chip. And even in Santria,or any form of divination or on a person. Many will put their faith on anything to were it becomes their god,& not on the One True God.


And for the Believers who look to "Signs & Wonders" would go to revivals,or church services for the new things happening in church,whether it be "Gold Dust"falling from the sky,Holy Laughter,being drunk in the Spirit,Slaying in the Spirit (There was a Slaying in the Spirit in Acts chapter 5,a believing couple of the time were slain & they didn't get up after that. Churches with the "New Revelation" or the "New Wine Experience", Positive Confession,New movements to were its like occultic/cultish in a way to were things get mystical & to were the church controls members. Its craziness,& some of it can become "Sooth saying" -Stay Away from that,because that can not only control a person,but can manipulate a person as a puppet,& its not of the Lord.

I can go on & on,but I want to say is seek the Lord & in His Word.


Whatever is "NEW" its not "TRUE" & Whatever is "TRUE" its not "NEW".........Remember that.
